Best Hiding Spots in Hide the Cat
Spot-choice principles grounded in the game's own inspection premise and official art (cabinets, wardrobes), the room-exploration progression, and an honest block: no official spot names exist yet, so nothing is invented.
You need a spot now, mid-round. No official spot names or rankings exist for this game yet (see the honest limits below), so this page teaches the decision instead: what makes a spot good in Hide the Cat, grounded in the game's own inspection premise and official art.
What makes a good hiding spot
- Out of the sightline. The landlord searches visually — the official art shows him leaning into rooms and peering into furniture. Spots with cover between the cat and the doorway beat open display spots.
- Plausible furniture. The official art shows cats hiding in open cabinets/shelves and inside wardrobes. Furniture that can physically hold a cat is where searching concentrates — how deep inside it sits matters more than which room it stands in.
- Quiet approach. The official rule is “keep quiet”: a spot you can reach without noisy detours is worth more than a perfect-but-loud one.
- Escape / re-hide option. Rounds repeat — the badge ladder counts 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 cats. Spots near your next round's path save real time.
- Explore for better. The official description says new rooms hide better spots. Early rooms teach you the furniture language; later rooms reward it.

Honest limits (checked 2026-09-21)
No official spot names, room names, or spot rankings exist publicly as of 2026-09-21 — not in the game description, official media, or anywhere else on the open web. We will not invent names or a fake tier list. When the developer names spots, this page will list them with sources. Until then: the principles above transfer across every room.
